Our Story

About GroundUp

Built to give grassroots clubs and community groups the platform they've always deserved.

Not through lack of interest. Through lack of money.

I grew up playing cricket at a local club, and every season I watched the same thing. Committee members with full-time jobs and young families spending their evenings ringing round local businesses, asking for £200 here or a set of shirts there. Not to build a new pavilion. To cover balls, teas and league fees, and keep the club open another year.

University societies have the same problem from the opposite direction. A single society might have 300 members, an active mailing list, a few thousand followers, weekly events and a stand at Freshers’ Fair. That’s a real audience of people about to walk into the graduate job market, and businesses spend serious money trying to reach exactly those people. But there’s no straightforward way for the two sides to find each other. So sponsorship either goes to whoever happens to know someone on the committee, or it never gets spent at all.

So I built GroundUp.

Our Vision

The home of community
sponsorship in the UK.

GroundUp's vision is to become the definitive platform where every grassroots club, university society, and community group in the UK can access sustainable, meaningful sponsorship - and where every business can find the right community to get behind.

We believe local impact is the most powerful form of marketing. Not impressions on a screen - but a logo on a kit, a banner at a final, a sponsor who became part of the story. GroundUp makes that possible at scale.

And as we grow, we'll give back - donating a percentage of profits to organisations helping young people access opportunity through sport, starting with Magic Bus India Foundation.

What we stand for

GroundUp was not built to be another SaaS tool. It was built to change something real.

Founder-led
Built and run by someone who grew up in the grassroots community and lived this problem firsthand.
UK-focused
Designed specifically for the British community landscape - clubs, societies, and local businesses.
Community-first
Every decision we make is measured by its impact on the clubs and communities we serve.
Win-win model
No deal completes unless it works genuinely well for both the club and the sponsor.
Long-term mission
This is not a quick exit play. GroundUp exists to reshape how community sponsorship works in the UK, permanently.
Giving back
As we grow, we'll donate a percentage of profits to organisations helping young people access opportunity through sport - starting with Magic Bus India Foundation.
Beyond GroundUp

Growing with purpose.

GroundUp was inspired by the power of grassroots communities. As we grow, we'll donate a percentage of our profits to organisations helping young people access the same opportunities through sport.

Our first commitment is to support Magic Bus India Foundation and their mission to create brighter futures through sport, education and community.

Profit-sharing commitment
Sport as a vehicle for change
Community impact, globally
